In the picture above, I am wearing a two-piece royal blue pinstripe suit. It has a royal blue background and wide dark blue/navy pinstripes. With a slim-fit silhouette, clean cuts, and tapered trousers, it comes with a pristine white shirt and a burgundy/wine tie.
For the look, I applied the Conservative rule with Monochrome pattern layout from my 4C framework.
Conservative styling is all about combining colours within the safe zone – neutrals, or monochrome gradients within the same colour family. This is the foundation – keeps everything basic and professional.
The suit takes conservative styling a notch higher with minimal effort. The wide vertical royal and dark blue stripes on the power suit are awesome in their monochrome team up – cool and sleek, balancing depth with style. The suit is a standout piece that needs little accessorizing to look sharp.
The white shirt offers a clean and simple base that allows the suit to shine without interference. The burgundy tie with tiny gold dots introduces some contrast and warmth into the otherwise cool appearance. Polished black leather shoes provide an anchor at the base – yielding a muted confidence and a balanced look. No undue noise.
