In the image above, I am wearing a lavender blazer layered over a deep plum shirt, paired with white trousers and finished with bold fuchsia loafers. At first glance, it feels vibrant. And it is. But it is not random.
For this look, I have used the Colour Blocking rule from my 4C framework.
Colour Blocking is the advanced level of styling. It is the combination of strong, distinctive colours, each visible, each intentional, each balanced.
Here, every colour holds its own space. The lavender blazer introduces softness, but it is still expressive. Lavender is a pastel, but in tailoring it carries authority.
The deep plum shirt adds richness and depth. It grounds the top half and strengthens the lavender.
The white trousers are crucial. They create separation. They prevent the outfit from becoming heavy. White gives the eye space to breathe.
Then the fuchsia loafers enter. They do not hide. They do not whisper. They amplify. The fuchsia echoes the warmth in the plum shirt while being brighter. That repetition creates cohesion, even within boldness.
Nothing here is accidental. Nothing is fighting. Each colour has a role.
This is not Conservative because we are not staying within one family. This is not pure Contrast because one colour is not simply leading with quiet supporters. This is Colour Blocking executed with intention.
