One of my favourite jokes I ever told as a stand-up comedian was about how I was born.
My dad’s birthday is March 15th. I was born December 15th, Exactly nine months later. So I used to say I was my mum’s birthday gift to my dad. How did I know? She named me ‘Ebun’ — which means gift. It was funny on stage.
But 30 years later, I’m more convinced than ever that I am a gift to this world. And so are you. There is something within each of us that we are meant to bless the world with.
But gifts are like seeds. If you don’t plant them, they remain seeds. If you don’t nurture them, they remain potential.
There are seasons in life. Different episodes. Different pressures. Different responsibilities. But one of the greatest wisdoms is knowing when to plant your seed. This principle has been true since the beginning of time: ‘As long as the earth remains, there will always be seedtime and harvest’.
What you put in is what comes out. A big tree starts as a seed. Input determines output. Newton’s law says an object at rest remains at rest until acted upon by an external force. Your gifts will remain dormant until you move. They will remain dreams. Desires. Thoughts in your head. Until you plant them. Until you invest time in them.

You are here today because of what you invested your time in yesterday, and you will be somewhere tomorrow based on what you plant today.
Seeds become trees but only if planted. Choices. If your current position is a product of past choices, then your future position is a product of present choices.
