Hearts in Action

I do vote in political elections, but I’ve come to realize that real change often comes from people on the ground — the creators, the entrepreneurs, the doers. Take Kurtis Mpundu, for example, Director of Labour Tech. He’s not waiting around for policy shifts or campaign promises. Instead, he’s actively building bridges between young talent and meaningful employment opportunities.

Today, he organized a charity football match at the Peterborough Stadium to raise funds for Ormiston Families, a charity in the East of England supporting vulnerable children and young people. The event wasn’t about politics — it was about impact. It brought people together, raised awareness, and generated support for a vital cause.

This kind of heart, the one that acts without obligation, is often missing in politics. That’s why I hold creators and entrepreneurs in such high regard, they identify a problem and just go ahead and fix it. Voting is important, but so is recognizing and supporting those who are already out there doing the work.
