It’s Never Too Late

I had an interesting conversation today on my podcast with Joy Jewett, a 73-year-old who returned to modeling at 70—decades after leaving it at 27 for a successful career in banking, where she rose to the top. In just three years, she has walked in multiple fashion shows, including New York Fashion Week, and is set to publish her book this April.

It’s a powerful reminder that it’s never too late—as long as you’re moving at your own pace. True wisdom is knowing the right thing to do at the right time. As the Yorùbás say, “Alágbará má m’ẹ́tọ̀, bàbá òle ni”—meaning, having power without strategy is the mark of a lazy man.

Most importantly, only you truly know what is required of you in each season of life. Take a step back, listen, and discern what’s being asked of you.

Which aspects do you think makes a person unique?

      1. Things have been a little challenging lately, to be honest, but I am blessed with a wonderful husband and family. Thank you for replying. I do enjoy your posts and photos.
