Lately, I’ve embraced a unique and ongoing lesson: learning to meet myself anew every day. At first, it might not sound like a groundbreaking skill, but for me, it’s been a transformative practice—understanding and accepting that I’m not a fixed, unchanging being. I evolve with every experience, conversation, and realization.
This lesson came into focus when I started noticing how my decisions and perspectives shift over time. What felt like the right choice yesterday might feel less clear today, not because I’ve become indecisive but because I’ve grown. New information, emotions, or even subtle shifts in my mindset cast things in a different light. I’ve learned to honor this fluidity rather than resist it. Instead of holding myself to rigid expectations or past versions of who I thought I was, I’ve started to approach life with curiosity about who I’m becoming.
So, if there’s one skill I’ve mastered recently, it’s this: showing up for myself every day, ready to learn who I am and who I’m becoming. It’s a skill that has brought clarity to my decisions, peace to my doubts, and joy to the process of simply being me.
What skills or lessons have you learned recently?
Reminds me of the concept of having a “beginner’s mind.” I haven’t heard it expressed as you did here. Your suit today is 🔥. You wear it well!
