Day4 : “Who wears the pants in your life?”

The right pair of men’s trousers can be the most underestimated fashion piece. A good tailored trouser is the foundation and the first step to an excellent outfit for a man. Looking good starts with your trousers and most importantly,wearing a suitable trouser that fits your style and personality gives you extra confidence as a man.

I can remember clearly, finding a perfect tailored trouser for my personality was what led me into the fashion business. I couldn’t just get a trouser that fits from stores. and my plug as of then could not just get it right. Mind you, I was asking for too much from my trousers.

All I wanted is a straight cut–not too lose, not too tight; with a perfect matured pencil cut at the foot. In my quest to get this, eventually found a tailor from Benin Republic who understood the assignment clearly and that was the beginning of our 8 years relationship.

I never had the plans of making clothes for people, God forbid I let anyone put me through the stress I put my tailors through in understanding my needs, but yeah I was just deceiving myself. My trousers were so good that the first thing people noticed was the fit and they always wanted to know where I got them from. Few years later, Twelve19styles came to be. That’s the power of finding good cut trousers.

One of the best ways to be fashionable as a man is to master the act of matching your trousers with a jacket and outfit in general. Whenever I’m wearing a different trousers from my jacket I love to ensure that the patterns are different to add the extra finesse to it. For example, when I’m wearing a solid blue jacket, I can throw on a grey chequered trousers with one of the lines having a little blue or other details that complement my blue jacket.

In this post I will be sharing with you how I have been able to explore different trousers and jackets, and in my next post I will focus on how I have been able to style a particular trousers with different shirts and jackets. This should be fun!
