What Skill Would You Like to Learn?

When I think about skills, I don’t just think about technical ones like coding, photography, or public speaking. I think about the deeper skills that carry us through life. The skills that shape how we show up in the world.

For me, Elevate Your Style is rooted in representation, confidence, self-expression, mentorship, and collaboration. These values fuel every step of what we do. They remind me why we exist: to challenge the imbalance, to show that black men and women are leaders, visionaries, and creators whose presence cannot be ignored.

And that leads me to the skill I believe is worth learning: the skill of carrying yourself with confidence, no matter the room you walk into.

Confidence is not a gift—it’s a discipline. It’s something you learn, sharpen, and grow into. Dressing well teaches it. Self-expression builds it. Collaboration strengthens it. Mentorship passes it on. And representation proves it’s possible
