On Saturday I woke up to find out I lost my 321–day blog streak of daily writing and showing up for the Jetpack daily prompt challenge. I had actually written the post, but forgot to publish it all day. It hurt. Still, I can’t overlook the discipline it built in me, the habit of waking up, writing, and sharing my reflections. I felt bad all through the day, but while running today it occurred to me: you can always start at a new starting line.
Even though the streak count is gone, it can’t erase the fact that for 321 days straight I committed to a mission. That gives me energy. The consistency, the act of showing up, the thought that one day someone might flip through these pages and find inspiration in them, that fuels me.
So here I am again, back at another starting line, still committed to writing and reflecting daily. What gives me energy is not just the streak, but the resilience it represents the reminder that you can fall, get back up, and continue the journey. This is not the end, only another beginning.
What things give you energy?
