Talking about food, I just finished a bowl of one of my favourites, pounded yam with okro soup. Ah, nothing compares to that feeling. No Yoruba boy in his right mind says no to a well pounded yam, especially when it marries egusi or okro in one plate. That first scoop makes you close your eyes, the second makes you nod your head, and by the third you are already thanking God for creating yam in the first place.
But here is the thing, food for me is not just what goes into the stomach. I also love food that nourishes my soul. Books that lift my spirit, voices that inspire me, words from speakers that empower me, these are also food to me. I love food in every form, the kind that fills the belly, the kind that feeds the mind, and the kind that strengthens the soul.
