This evening, I’ll be running.
Running has become more than just fitness for me, it’s a time to reflect. Recently while running, it dawned on me how much of my life has been shaped by seeds planted long ago, especially by my mum. What struck me was that the fruits I now enjoy didn’t always come from the people she directly helped, but from others at the exact moments I needed it most.
That reflection reminded me of a truth: helping with expectations often leads to disappointment. The lesson life keeps teaching me is simple, you help because you’re in a position to, not because you’re waiting for a return. The fruits rarely look like the seed, but they always show up if you keep planting good ones.
So this evening, as I run, I’ll be reminding myself of this law of life: what goes around comes around, and as Jesus said, “Do to others what you would have them do to you.”
What are you doing this evening?
