I ran a marathon today

I ran a marathon today. Growing up, my mum would tell us stories about how she went to Kano, Ghana, and cities I can’t remember to run, and her run club escaped.

As I got off on the train to Bath for the Relish Running Race today, I realise the apple had not fallen too far from the tree. It’s days like this I wish I can call her on the phone, and we have good gist about my run, tease her, and cause trouble.

At the same time, it was a reminder for me how short life is, and more conscious of the stories I’m writing today, and why it is important to share the story.

So when one flip through the pages, they can read of my strength in my weakness, of courage in fears, of dreaming big within all limitation. Maybe the reader can read it and find their story in, or staring point to something bigger than themselves.

Yes, I ran a marathon today.

What do you love about where you live?
