Forget Fashion Rules, Here’s What Real Style Feels Like

For me, comfort is not a luxury. It is a necessity. It is not about avoiding discomfort altogether but rather finding a way to feel at ease with how you move through life. Whether it is in how I dress, how I work, or how I show up in spaces, I believe the goal should always be to carry a sense of calm and confidence, even when the situation is tense or unpredictable.

In personal style, comfort plays a deeper role than people realise. I no longer chase trends just to tick a box or impress others. I go for garments that allow me to move freely, breathe easily, and feel at home in my skin. One of the best decisions I made for my style and comfort was introducing relaxed trousers into my wardrobe. As someone always on the move, they give me the ease I need without sacrificing elegance. I also do not follow the outdated rule of no sneakers with suits. A clean pair of well-styled sneakers gives me both the comfort and the edge I need, especially when I still want to maintain a polished look.

Colour is another powerful tool I use. I wear colours not just to stand out but because of how they make me feel. Bright tones lift my mood and often spark joy in those around me. It becomes an instant conversation starter. And I always include something in my outfit that speaks to my story—where I am from and where I am going. It could be a piece of jewellery, a print, or a cut that echoes my roots and ambition.

Style for me is not just about fashion. It is my identity on display. And to share that truthfully, I have to be fully comfortable doing it.
