Day 99 – The Sweetest Candy of All

Ask me my favorite candy, and you might expect me to name a sugary treat—a chocolate bar, a caramel chew, or maybe something nostalgic from childhood. But after a decade of hosting weddings and celebrating love with newlyweds, I’ve come to realize that my favorite candy isn’t something you unwrap. It’s something you experience.

The Candy Dance.

There’s nothing quite like that moment when the music drops, and the dance floor fills up. Grandparents, kids, aunts, uncles, and friends—everyone, no matter their rhythm (or lack of it), joins in. Some move with precision, others just go with the flow, but that’s the beauty of it. The joy isn’t in getting the steps right; it’s in showing up, in laughing through the missteps, in celebrating together.

It’s the kind of sweetness you can’t buy. It’s the energy of a room coming alive, the unspoken bond of shared movement, and the pure, unfiltered happiness of people letting go. No chocolate, no hard candy, no gourmet treat has ever matched the taste of that moment.

So, my favorite candy? It’s the one that brings people together, that turns strangers into dance partners and moments into memories. The Candy Dance—forever the sweetest part of any wedding.

What’s your favorite candy?
