Running, Lifting, Working: The Joy of Everyday Play

Play is somehow embedded in my daily life, woven into the rhythms of my day. Sometimes it’s intense, like a high-stakes game that demands focus and strategy; other times, it flows effortlessly, almost like second nature. Running, for instance, feels like a personal game—a challenge against myself to push harder, go further. The gym is another kind of play, where every rep or set feels like leveling up in a quest for strength and resilience.

Even my work allows space for playtime. It’s a blessing to have work that feels like a playground for creativity or problem-solving, where I can explore, experiment, and get into a flow state. Whether structured or spontaneous, play sneaks into my life, reminding me to find joy, challenge, and a sense of fun in even the most routine moments.

Do you play in your daily life? What says “playtime” to you?
