Yesterday, I finished reading the Bible for the first time, from Genesis to Revelation. This journey has deeply impacted the way I celebrate Christmas this year. Understanding the story of Abraham, the Israelites, and all the events that lead up to the birth of Jesus Christ has given me a greater appreciation for why we celebrate His coming into the world.
While some may argue that elements of Christmas have pagan origins, the essence of our celebration remains unchanged. We honor the story of the birth of Jesus—the man whose life and sacrifice we share in as Christians.
This is why we are called Christians.
