What cities do you want to visit?

There’s a certain magic to stepping into a new city for the first time—the hum of its streets, the scent of its food, the energy of its people. Every city tells a story, and no two are the same. Some are steeped in history, their streets whispering tales of centuries past. Others pulse with modernity, their skylines reaching ever higher, their culture evolving every second.

For me, as someone inspired by both art and fashion, cities are more than destinations; they’re sources of inspiration. Each one holds a promise—of creativity, of vibrant design, of a culture that could spark the next idea for my work. So, when I dream about the cities I’d love to visit, it’s about more than sightseeing. It’s about immersing myself in their rhythm, discovering their hidden corners, and seeing how they speak to my artistry.

Here’s my list of dream destinations, each chosen for its unique style, soul, and creative pulse:

1. Accra

There’s something electrifying about the capital of Ghana. Accra is a fusion of tradition and innovation, with its lively arts scene and booming fashion industry. The vibrant colors of kente cloth, the eclectic markets, and the music that fills the air all promise inspiration at every turn. It’s a place where creativity thrives, and I imagine soaking up its energy would influence my designs in bold and unexpected ways.

2. New York City

New York is a city that needs no introduction. It’s the heartbeat of the global fashion industry and a hub of endless artistic expression. From the towering skyscrapers of Manhattan to the artistic enclaves of Brooklyn, every street feels alive with possibility. Walking through its neighborhoods, attending a gallery in Chelsea, or even sitting in Central Park would be like stepping into a real-life mood board for creativity.

3. Abidjan

Known as the “Paris of West Africa,” Abidjan is a city that’s both chic and deeply rooted in culture. Its modern architecture contrasts beautifully with its traditional art forms. I’m particularly drawn to the energy of its markets and the sophistication of its urban fashion. Exploring its art galleries and absorbing the city’s effortless blend of old and new would be a dream.

4. Casablanca

Casablanca is more than its cinematic allure. It’s a city where history and contemporary culture meet seamlessly. Its architectural beauty, from the grandeur of the Hassan II Mosque to its Art Deco buildings, is a constant reminder of its layered past. I’d love to wander through its streets, soaking in its textures, colors, and patterns, and see how its elegance influences my work.

5. Rio de Janeiro

Rio feels like a celebration in motion. The energy of its Carnival, the vibrant murals in its streets, and the breathtaking views from Sugarloaf Mountain are just a few of the reasons this city captivates me. Its bold colors and rhythms seem to echo the spirit of freedom and creativity, and I’d love to experience that firsthand.

6. Conakry

As the cultural heart of Guinea, Conakry intrigues me with its rich traditions and artistic expressions. The city is alive with music, storytelling, and craftsmanship that reflect its deep-rooted heritage. I imagine finding inspiration in its textiles, handmade jewelry, and the vibrant spirit of its people.

7. Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is often called the “Paris of South America,” and for good reason. Its European influences blend with Latin American flair to create a city that’s both elegant and edgy. The tango, the street art, and the bustling markets would provide endless creative sparks. I picture myself sketching designs while sipping coffee at a café in Palermo, letting the city’s passion fuel my imagination.

8. Singapore

Singapore is a city of the future, yet it doesn’t lose sight of its traditions. Its sleek, modern skyline is complemented by lush greenery, vibrant cultural neighborhoods, and cutting-edge design. The city’s ability to merge technology with artistry is something I deeply admire, and I’d love to see how its innovative spirit could inspire my own work.
