Back in secondary school, I was called “Okunwowo” by my classmates, a moniker blending the first four letters of my surname with the local term for “ugly.” Rather than succumbing to a victim mentality, I vividly recall the day I confided in my late mother about this hurtful nickname. Instead of pity, she offered me profound wisdom, asserting that I was a masterpiece with distinctive features that rendered me handsome. According to her, “Nobody is built like you; you’re perfectly made.”
Reflecting on that day and my experiences to the present, I’ve come to understand that I’m not built like others. There’s a purpose woven into my affinity for running, the resonance of rap in my musical preferences, the allure of specific colors, and my passion for the books I cherish, which aligns seamlessly with my life’s calling.

Your heart beats to a rhythm distinct from others, steering you towards passions and pursuits uniquely yours. Your abilities are a manifestation of your distinct strengths, setting you apart in a crowd. Your personality is a deliberate design, tailored to fit your specific likes and dislikes. Meanwhile, your life experiences, the trials and triumphs, shape a narrative that is exclusively yours.
Amidst the clamor of the world, it’s imperative not to let external labels define you. Instead, silence the noise, delve into self-discovery, and discern the intricate patterns that make you who you are. Embracing your uniqueness allows you to blossom into the authentic masterpiece you were created to be. After all, nobody is built like you – you are perfectly made.
