My Love letter to you.

Something interesting happened on the seventeenth day of my twenty-one-day writing challenge on men’s fashion. To feel the pulse of the awesome audience that was thrilled with what I was doing, I thought it would be great to put out a question to get into the minds of my readership. You know, it was important for me to know what exactly people wanted to know about fashion, how they’d like to be served and what their preferences were.

Since WhatsApp has been an easy and a major medium to share my work and also connect with my tribe, I decided to ask a simple question via my WhatsApp Status:

Dear readers, what would you like me to write about?

To be sincere, I was surprised at the overwhelming response I got especially from the ladies (don’t ask me why😂). From this seemingly simple question, I also got some  interesting topic ideas which I will be writing on as the days go by.

As I read through the beautiful feedback I got from you guys, two responses struck me the most. The first was from “someone” asking me to write a love letter—Oshey XclusiveMic ti di Shakespeare. Out of sheer curiosity, I posted this request publicly to see how many more people wanted my special kind of love. Guess what? I think I just might be Fela in the making 😂.

I know  what you are thinking. If a love letter was the first request that caught my attention, what then was the second right? Maybe it was a proposal? You see why  you shouldn’t miss any of my posts? I’m not letting the cat out yet.

On completing the challenge, I had a deep reflection about the last twenty-one days.  Knowing the level of support and encouragement I got from you, I had no other option but to write you a love letter. Yes, you reading this right now. This love letter is specifically for you.

Thank you for being you. Thank you for sharing the most valuable thing you have—your time—with me. Thank you for believing in the greatness of my craft.  With you cheering me on, I had no other option than to embrace the beauty of my journey.

Throughout the course of my career and life in general, I’ve reached
a lot of notable heights and I’m so used to not celebrating them. I have somehow found a way to downplay them. In my ever-blooming career as a comedian, MC and fashion enthusiast,  I have sold out the main auditorium of University of Lagos (Unilag) .

I have also managed a project that got endorsed by Guiness Book of Records for producing the largest photo-book in the world for my country’s  official presidential photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, and this groundbreaking project was unveiled before the President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

I’ve had opportunity to introduce my boyhood favourite artistes and global stars on stage like the legendary King Sunny Ade, the incomparable Tuface Idibia  the iconic Wizkid, and the globally renown Davido amongst others.

I performed at Felabration (a concert that celebrates the life of the exemplary Fela Anikulapo Kuti). Internationally, I have hosted  a festival in Bristol, England..

Despite these amazing landmarks, trust me, the joy I had from completing this twenty-one-day challenge can’t be compared to anything in this world. It was truly a fulfilling trip, and you played a major role in making that happen.

At 3am, on the 22nd of August, I sat before my computer sipping a bottle of wine as  Wizkid featuring Damian Marley-Blessed-played subtly on the background. The challenge was over at this point, and the lyrics of this “mad jam” banged harder than orgasm.

In the calm and quietness of this moment, I realised what a blessing it is having you in my life. You are the reason I was able to hold up till the end. At the beginning, I had lots of reads and engagements but as time  went by, the engagements reduced.

I could have easily given up at that point but  I remembered your messages of how my broadcast came late the previous day, or the times you dropped a message of how lovely my outfits and writings were, or the days you shared my write up with  your friends and various communities. Trust  me,  these were  the reason I held on till the very end. How will I let you down? How will I hurt your tender loving caring heart by giving up ?  I felt this love.

At the beginning, I thought I had it all figured out. I had my contents well planned out but that was far from the reality. On day 5, I had to hit the streets of London to take pictures. From there, I had to head to host an all night show (Lagos to London). Despite the spotlight and the razzmatazz that came with being on stage, I knew I still had to go back home to tidy up content because I promised you premium quality only. I just couldn’t break your hearts because I knew I couldn’t afford the cost of roses I could have had to send across the world.

The last three days of this wonderful writing trip, I toured three different cities in England as I hosted three different events. These were times I could have easily lost focus as I  spent hours on the road. Knowing I had the most dedicated readership kept me going. Like a lover waiting for her boo’s text, I knew you couldn’t wait for that notification with my  latest blogpost.

I knew it, I knew it will hunt me for the rest of my life if I let you down. I didn’t do this alone, we did it. We won. We came, we saw, and we conquered as a team.

To anyone with a dream out there, see  this as  a proof that you can also do whatever you’ve set your mind to achieve.

In this journey, I found purpose and you’re part of my epic story. Your applause kept me dancing even when the music was turned off. From the bottom of my heart, I’m saying I Love You. This is not the kind of love Lagos men have to offer 😂.

To prove this, kindly follow my blog by checking through the left corner of my page and you just might be among the lucky persons to get a personal letter and flowers from me.

Yours “Lovinus,”

XclusiveMic..

To be continued in subsequent posts. Kindly follow my blog to keep up with the conversation and feel free to share this love letter from me to you with your friends.
