Since WhatsApp has been an easy and a major medium to share my work and also connect with my tribe, I decided to ask a simple question via my WhatsApp Status:
Dear readers, what would you like me to write about?
To be sincere, I was surprised at the overwhelming response I got especially from the ladies (don’t ask me why😂). From this seemingly simple question, I also got some interesting topic ideas which I will be writing on as the days go by.
As I read through the beautiful feedback I got from you guys, two responses struck me the most. The first was from “someone” asking me to write a love letter—Oshey XclusiveMic ti di Shakespeare. Out of sheer curiosity, I posted this request publicly to see how many more people wanted my special kind of love. Guess what? I think I just might be Fela in the making 😂.
I know what you are thinking. If a love letter was the first request that caught my attention, what then was the second right? Maybe it was a proposal? You see why you shouldn’t miss any of my posts? I’m not letting the cat out yet.
On completing the challenge, I had a deep reflection about the last twenty-one days. Knowing the level of support and encouragement I got from you, I had no other option but to write you a love letter. Yes, you reading this right now. This love letter is specifically for you.
Thank you for being you. Thank you for sharing the most valuable thing you have—your time—with me. Thank you for believing in the greatness of my craft. With you cheering me on, I had no other option than to embrace the beauty of my journey.
Throughout the course of my career and life in general, I’ve reached a lot of notable heights and I’m so used to not celebrating them. I have somehow found a way to downplay them. In my ever-blooming career as a comedian, MC and fashion enthusiast, I have sold out the main auditorium of University of Lagos (Unilag) .
I have also managed a project that got endorsed by Guiness Book of Records for producing the largest photo-book in the world for my country’s official presidential photographer, Bayo Omoboriowo, and this groundbreaking project was unveiled before the President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
I’ve had opportunity to introduce my boyhood favourite artistes and global stars on stage like the legendary King Sunny Ade, the incomparable Tuface Idibia the iconic Wizkid, and the globally renown Davido amongst others.
I performed at Felabration (a concert that celebrates the life of the exemplary Fela Anikulapo Kuti). Internationally, I have hosted a festival in Bristol, England..
Despite these amazing landmarks, trust me, the joy I had from completing this twenty-one-day challenge can’t be compared to anything in this world. It was truly a fulfilling trip, and you played a major role in making that happen.
At 3am, on the 22nd of August, I sat before my computer sipping a bottle of wine as Wizkid featuring Damian Marley-Blessed-played subtly on the background. The challenge was over at this point, and the lyrics of this “mad jam” banged harder than orgasm.
To prove this, kindly follow my blog by checking through the left corner of my page and you just might be among the lucky persons to get a personal letter and flowers from me.
Yours “Lovinus,”
