Reminiscing

Tomorrow is another Saturday and still no owanbe. To be honest these are really trying times for my Yoruba people who throw parties for everything.
Personally I’d miss a lot of things which have been part of my life in the last few years, like the magic I do with the microphone, the smiles I put on people’s faces, the jollof rice at weddings, Asun, OMG 😋 let’s not talk about the small chops and of course the weekend slay  ( my jackets probably think I’m in a Com). Oh of course I miss the credit alerts as well.
But in all, I’ve learnt to be more grateful for life recently, na person wey Dey alive Dey reminisce.
For the event industry it is a big affliction. A lot of people have always advised that you save for rainy days, I think this is now beyond rainy days, rainy days don’t last this long, this one is definitely rainy season.
The major things I’d learnt this period is to  “Never say Never” and “it can happen to anybody”
I can see a lot of my colleagues are now moving to selling face shields, another large percentage are now into foods, some others are now into cab, car rentals, anything sha to put food on the table.
I’ve never had a CV all my life, just yesterday I finished writing mine and I laughed at the part I wrote I can work under pressure (I didn’t lie. This one is just pressure not to go broke)
Let’s now discuss about the couples who had scheduled their wedding for this year,
To be honest I can feel your pain.
The trauma, the emotional pain, the money spent in planning and probability that you might not be having your wedding the way you wanted it and how you wanted it.
Let’s not even talk about the people that can not wait to start playing the adult tennis. Trusme you will have to be more patient.
In all we should be grateful for life, I pray all of these gets over soon so we can move on with our life. The fact that you’re reading this is a big sign of hope that it’s not over yet.
My condolences to everyone who lost their loved ones this period, may the soul of the departed ones Rest In Peace.
Remember to keep safe, covid19 is real.
This is just a flashback about when weekends use to be lit lit  and a reminder that I’m one of best Compere’s your will ever come across.
