The Vintage Groom: What a way to be ‘Old-fashioned’!

The average Nigerian groom plays it safe.
Very rarely would you find a groom willing to throw in a pop of colour or go out on a limb and so while the Brides are constantly re-inventing their dresses, it seems like we the men are just old-fashioned.
Naturally, most people at this point expect me to list all the reasons why being old-fashioned isn’t a great look for Grooms and how we need to evolve with the times. Sorry to disappoint you but my views are quite the opposite.
What do I mean?
It’s simple. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being old fashioned as long as you can make it work and what better way to show that you’re an ‘Old-fashioned’ guy than by going Vintage on your big day?
Yes! Vintage! Just think about it for a second…
The typical Nigerian groom and his groomsmen spend a pretty penny on a conventional suit and then add it to their closets which are full of ‘conventional suits’. Wouldn’t it be nice to switch it up and make things a little more interesting?
There are quite a few advantages of becoming a Vintage Groom. For one, Vintage pieces are usually not as expensive as new-age pieces which means that you might get to save a tidy sum. Another great advantage of crossing over to the Vintage side is that you immediately get to add a lot more creativity to your closet (we all know the Black and Blue suits can get a little boring). Finally, the most important perk of being a Vintage Groom would have to be the fire pictures that you get to keep for the rest of your life from the Ceremony!
If I have managed to convert you; I’m glad. But if you’re still thinking about whether or not to try Vintage in the new-age, here are some pictures that might help you decide.

If your wedding is around the corner, you should know that I look forward to MC’ing for a Vintage Groom!
